I decided that I needed a roof rack, as I had one on my previous car and there was no way I
was going to shove a whole bunch of dirty bikes into the back of Audrey. Click on a picture

From the previous car, I had 2 Yakima GT Upright bike carriers, and to get them on the Audi I
went down to my local REI (www.rei.com) about bought the following:
|
- Doublecross-$110
- 48 inch bars-$40
- SKS Locks, 8-$60
- 2 Accessory Locks-$18

Everything fits great on the roof, but there is a bit of wind noise over 65 mph. I will be looking
into other ways of mounting the rack, and I may even check if adding a fairing will help out. While
not really intrusive, the noise is sort of annoying, so we shall see.

But the rack itself is very secure
and I have no worries about the bikes up there. That and I love the roof rack look. No I need to try to
get my non-locking GT Uprights converted into locking units.

I am thinking about adding a basketcase or a snowboard setup in the future, but time will tell.
